Day 22: Brand New Day

Isn't it a wonderful feeling to wake up to the bright sun shining over clear blue skies? Well, in Miami, we have many of those days throughout the year.  Yet no matter how often the sun wakes me up with its brilliance spilling onto my face, it never grows old.

Its always a great feeling because I know that it's a new day.  A new day to get on with the things on my daily list of things to do. A new day to begin a new project or finish off one in the making. And if I had a bad day yesterday, well, I always have today.

Whatever I have planned...It's a brand new day.

In the same way,
every day is a new day with God.  Aren't you glad about that!
Yesterday's mistakes are behind us and today we have
a new beginning.  An opportunity to make it right and look
ahead on the promises he has set before us.

As we look ahead to the next 18 days left of this experiment,
we look back at our season of growth that has only been possible by taking it one day at a time along with the grace of God.

There have been some days that have been better than others.
There have been times where our focus on the Lord has been
more concentrated than others.

We have had nights where we've forgotten to
end the day the way we began it.

We have had days of extreme jubilee and
days of sheer disappointments.

And we have energetic, productive days and
days when we drag our feet and feel drained.

But all in all, it has been a great time of discovery.

Our interaction with God has changed.
We now wake up looking forward to our time with God
more than our cup of coffee. He's become "the best part of waking up."

And he's become the way we close out our days
instead of the latest breaking news.

The wonderful thing about God is that everyday is a new day with Him regardless of our past.  There are no mistakes big enough. Nothing we could have done or NOT have done that would keep Him from being who He is and loving us the way only He could.

In His eyes, today, is a brand new day!

  Psalm 118:24
This is the day the LORD has made
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

We started to do this because we wanted a better relationship with God... daily
and we wanted to learn about depending on God... daily.
So far, midway along, we do believe he's teaching us... daily.

Zephaniah 3:5
... every new day he does not fail...

How are you living your brand new day?
